Role Description The Secondary School Clinician is a full-time, on-site role based in Lichtenburg, providing clinical support and injury management services to secondary school students, faculty, and athletic programs. This role includes evaluating musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries, implementing treatment and rehabilitation plans, and coordinating care with IBJI physicians and physical therapists. The clinician will participate in injury prevention programs, provide education on safe training practices, and maintain accurate clinical documentation aligned with organizational standards. Daily activities also involve communicating with coaches, school staff, and families regarding student progress, and supporting event coverage for practices, games, and school activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated clinical skills in assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of orthopedic and sports-related injuries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with students, families, school staff, and medical teams.
- Organizational and documentation skills to manage caseloads, maintain records, and follow clinical protocols.
- Ability to work independently on-site, exercise sound clinical judgment, and respond appropriately in urgent or emergent situations.
- Relevant professional licensure or certification (e.g., athletic trainer, physiotherapist, or equivalent), in accordance with local regulations.
- Experience working with adolescents or in school-based, sports medicine, or orthopedic settings is highly beneficial.
- Basic proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software.
- Commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
