Job Description:

The Securities Financial Operations Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, payments, reconciliations, deposits, withdrawals and journals, while ensuring compliance with established processes, controls and supporting documentation requirements. The role also provides operational support to the team, maintains strong client relationships and assists with system testing and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely execution of payments; ensure necessary CRS, bank verification performed; ensure documents received and necessary processes followed for cession, 3rd party and estate late payments and relevant approval obtained as required or reject request up front if appropriate
  • Accurate and timely preparation of the payments batch, including duplicate checker
  • Accurate and timely preparation/distribution of bank reconciliations including processing bankovers and bank letters and timely listing of amounts in each bank account
  • Accurate and timely listing of resident and non-resident deposits, keeping unallocated deposits to a minimum by applying policy and returning funds in a timely manner
  • Accurate and timely processing and listing of non-resident withdrawals with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Accurate and timely processing of PIA non-PIA journals
  • Accurate and timely review of bank account listings, journals, deposits etc
  • Coach and equip team
  • Cover responsibilities for team leave and assist others in need
  • Create where necessary, maintain and update detailed process documents
  • Deliver quality on ad hoc projects
  • Effectively monitor and action PSP payments in a timely manner, chasing up advisers regularly where insufficient funds or similar
  • Embrace standard processes and controls
  • Maintain good internal/external client relations
  • Perform testing on IT fixes, enhancements and upgrades as and when required, including weekends
  • Take responsibility for incoming calls and allocations on JIRA

Minimum requirements:

  • B.Com Finance/Accounting
  • 2-3 years of experience in financial services industry (preferably Securities/Stockbroking)
  • MS Excel
  • BDA system knowledge advantageous
  • Familiarity with JIRA advantageous
