AREA MANAGER Position

Area Manager

Reporting To

Operations Director / Managing Director

Purpose of the Position

To manage and oversee all security operations within the assigned area, ensuring effective service delivery, client satisfaction, contractual compliance, operational efficiency, and staff performance across all allocated sites.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of all assigned security sites.
• Ensure all sites are adequately staffed according to contractual requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality assurance audits.
• Monitor compliance with company SOPs, client procedures, PSIRA regulations and statutory requirements.
• Ensure all incidents are investigated and reported appropriately.

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary liaison between the company and the client.
• Attend client meetings and address operational concerns.
• Build and maintain positive client relationships.
• Ensure contractual obligations and service level agreements are met.

Staff Management

• Supervise Area Supervisors, Site Supervisors and Security Officers.
• Conduct staff performance evaluations.
• Manage discipline, counselling and corrective action processes.
• Identify training and development needs.
• Ensure staff maintain professional appearance and conduct.

Recruitment and Deployment

• Participate in recruitment, selection and placement of security personnel.
• Verify that all deployed staff meet contractual requirements.
• Ensure new employees receive site-specific induction and training.
• Manage relief staff and replacement planning.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure PSIRA compliance for all deployed officers.
• Monitor firearm compliance and control where applicable.
• Ensure all registers, occurrence books and site documentation are maintained.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements.
• Ensure health and safety compliance.

Reporting and Administration

• Submit weekly and monthly operational reports.
• Maintain incident, absenteeism and disciplinary records.
• Monitor attendance, overtime and shift schedules.
• Verify payroll information before submission.

Fleet and Asset Management

• Monitor company vehicles allocated to operations.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of company assets.
• Manage radios, uniforms, firearms and operational equipment.

Emergency Response

• Respond to emergencies and critical incidents.
• Coordinate investigations and corrective actions.
• Provide after-hours support when required.

Minimum Requirements

• PSIRA Grade A Registration
• Valid Firearm Competency Certificate
• Valid Driver's Licence
• Minimum 3 years Security Management Experience
• Strong Leadership and People Management Skills
• Computer Literacy (MS Office)
• Excellent Communication and Report Writing Skills
• Willingness to Travel and Relocate

Working Conditions

• Will be required to travel between sites.
• Must be available for after-hours operational emergencies.
• Will oversee multiple sites and security personnel.

Please note: This position requires relocation. Applicants who are not willing to relocate and travel as operationally required will not be considered.

Pay: R12 000,00 - R22 000,00 per month
