SUMMARY: JOB PURPOSE:

• The incumbent will support the successful implementation of the Tyefu Aloe ferox Community Project by securing and protecting the people, property, equipment, and assets by maintaining a safe and secure environment through monitoring, patrolling, access control, and incident response.
• This role involves working closely with the Project Coordinator.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10 or Grade 12 (Matric preferred)
• Valid Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) registration certificate (Preferred)
• Previous security experience will be an advantage (minimum 2 years)
• Good communication skills in isiXhosa will be an advantage, and English
• No criminal record
• Physically fit and able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Knowledge of security procedures
• Ability to remain calm under pressure

POSITION INFO: RESPONSIBILITIES: Safeguard and protect the community's property, equipment, and assets Control access to premises by verifying visitors, staff, and vehicles Conduct regular patrols of buildings, facilities, and surrounding areas Prevent unauthorised access, theft, vandalism, and criminal activity Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, incidents, and suspicious behaviour Record incidents, observations, and daily activities in occurrence books Perform searches where authorised and when necessary Liaise with the police (law enforcement) when necessary As this is a community-based project implemented in Tyefu Village, preference will be given to applicants residing in Tyefu Village and surrounding communities within Ngqushwa Local Municipality.
