## Job Title: Security Officer / Code 10 Driver

**Reporting To:** Security Site Supervisor / Operations Manager

### Job Purpose

To safely and efficiently operate company Code 10 vehicles while providing high-level physical security, asset protection, and rapid response. The incumbent will ensure that goods, personnel, or guarded assets are securely transported while strictly adhering to the National Road Traffic Act and private security regulations.

### Key Responsibilities & Duties

* **Secure Driving & Transport:** Safely operate Code 10 company vehicles (e.g., patrol trucks, delivery vehicles, or armored vans) to transport security personnel, equipment, or high-value assets to designated sites.

* **Patrols & Escorts:** Conduct mobile security patrols along designated routes or perimeter fences. Provide secure escort services for high-risk cargo or personnel.

* **Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspections:** Perform daily maintenance checks on the vehicle (oil, water, brake fluid, tire tread/pressure, and lights) and accurately complete the vehicle logbook and pre-trip inspection sheets before every shift.

* **Access Control & Site Security:** Assist with access control at gates, inspect incoming/outgoing cargo vehicles, and ensure no unauthorized assets leave the premises.

* **Incident Response & Reporting:** Respond swiftly to security breaches, alarms, or emergencies. Document all unusual events, security risks, or vehicle issues accurately in the Occurrence Book (OB).

* **Compliance:** Maintain strict compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), South African Road Traffic Regulations, and PSIRA regulations.

### Job Requirements & Qualifications

* **Driver's License:** Valid South African **Code 10 (C1)** driver's license with a clean driving record.

* **Permit:** Valid **Public Driving Permit (PrDP)** is compulsory.

* **PSIRA Registration:** Must be registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (**PSIRA Grade C** or higher).

* **Education:** Minimum of Grade 10 (Grade 12/Matric is preferred).

* **Experience:** 1–3 years of experience driving heavy or commercial vehicles, ideally within a security, logistics, or tactical environment.

* **Clearance:** Must have a clean criminal record (subject to vetting and screening).

* **Skills:** Strong spatial awareness for handling larger vehicles, good communication skills, basic vehicle troubleshooting, and high alertness.

### Physical Demands & Work Conditions

* Shift work required (including nights, weekends, and public holidays).

* Willingness to work outdoors and drive in adverse weather conditions.

* Physically fit to assist with loading, off-loading, or standing at security posts when not driving.

Pay: From R15 000,00 per month
