Introduction

Picup, a leading last-mile delivery and technology-driven logistics company, is seeking an experienced Inland Operations Manager to lead and optimise our inland operations. This role is responsible for overseeing driver and fleet performance, route planning, operational efficiency, service delivery, and customer experience across a fast-paced logistics environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, maintaining service level agreements, managing escalations, and driving continuous improvement within our growing last-mile delivery network. We're looking for an experienced Accountant / Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Observatory, Cape Town.

Job description

• Oversee and review the weekly driver payments process.
• Prepare daily cash flow reports and bank balances.
• Assist with annual financial statement audits.
• Perform first reviews of annual financial statements.
• Prepare and issue sales invoices with supporting documentation.
• Process purchase invoices, journals, and cashbooks.
• Prepare bank and creditor reconciliations.
• Complete VAT reconciliations, VAT201 submissions, and VAT audits.
• Prepare provisional tax calculations and IRP6 submissions.
• Complete ITR14 submissions.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process payroll reconciliations and journals.
• Complete EMP201 submissions.
• Maintain the internal training centre shop, including inventory and sales.
• Assist with the annual budgeting process.
• Provide support and guidance to the Finance team.

Minimum requirements

• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate).
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Previous audit experience is essential.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis.
• Experience with Navision or a similar ERP/accounting system is highly advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical ability with exceptional attention to detail.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with a positive attitude.
• A collaborative team player who takes ownership and accountability.
