Job description
Lexdan Select is assisting a New Zealand based accountancy with their search for a senior accountant.
This role is fully remote, with a salary range of R35 000 to R50 000 p.m.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements for a portfolio of clients
- Manage VAT returns and tax compliance, ensuring accuracy and timely filing
- Oversee and review the work of junior accountants, providing guidance and feedback
- Liaise directly with clients on financial and tax matters
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Support process improvements and best practice within the accounting team
- Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and accounting standards
Requirements:
- 5+ years' relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of VAT and tax regulations
- Proven experience preparing financial statements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent
- Proficiency in Xero (advantageous)
