Role Overview
We are looking for a senior finance professional who can take ownership of day-to-day finance operations across multiple entities. This is a hands-on role for someone who can operate independently, manage bank accounts and reconciliations, run cash flow and treasury processes, prepare full financials, support audits and compliance, and keep the finance function running smoothly across the Group.
The successful candidate will work closely with executive management, operational teams, auditors, banks, SARS, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, disciplined cash management, and efficient financial processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesBanking, Treasury & Cash Flow
· Manage daily banking operations across Group entities, including payments, receipts, transfers, approvals, and banking administration.
· Operate and maintain bank accounts, mandates, user access, payment limits, and banking documentation.
· Prepare and review bank reconciliations, resolve reconciling items, and ensure bank balances are accurate and up to date.
· Prepare short-term and medium-term cash flow forecasts and monitor actual cash movements against forecast.
· Manage treasury requirements, including intercompany funding, cash positioning, liquidity planning, and working capital monitoring.
· Coordinate payments to suppliers, lenders, staff, SARS, and other stakeholders in line with internal controls and approval processes.
· Identify cash risks early and escalate funding, liquidity, or collection concerns to management.
Accounting Operations & Full Financials
· Own the monthly finance close process and ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial records.
· Prepare monthly management accounts, full sets of financials, and supporting schedules for multiple entities.
· Maintain general ledgers, journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations.
· Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, expense management, and payroll-related reconciliations.
· Ensure accurate revenue recognition, expense allocation, and entity-level reporting.
· Manage multi-entity accounting and support Group consolidation processes.
· Keep finance records audit-ready with clear supporting documentation and reconciliations.
Financial Reporting, Controls & Governance
· Prepare financial reports, cash reports, board packs, lender reports, and operational finance summaries as required.
· Support annual financial statements, external audits, reviews, and due diligence processes.
· Maintain and improve internal controls across banking, payments, reconciliations, reporting, and financial systems.
· Ensure compliance with IFRS, South African tax regulations, VAT, PAYE, and statutory requirements.
· Manage SARS submissions, tax reconciliations, and related compliance obligations with external advisers where required.
· Support governance and regulatory reporting processes across the Group.
Systems, Process & Operational Support
· Use and maintain Xero, cloud accounting platforms, ERP tools, banking platforms, and reporting systems.
· Improve finance processes, reporting templates, reconciliations, approvals, and month-end workflows.
· Work with business units to understand operational activity and translate it into accurate financial reporting.
· Support acquisitions, restructures, new entities, expansion initiatives, and finance system integrations.
· Provide practical commercial and operational finance support to EXCO and business unit leaders.
Minimum Requirements
· BCom Accounting, Finance, or similar qualification.
· 5-8+ years of accounting, finance, or senior operational finance experience.
· Proven ability to manage bank accounts, bank reconciliations, payments, cash flow, and treasury processes.
· Strong experience preparing management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and full financials.
· Experience in multi-entity or group environments.
· Strong understanding of IFRS, VAT, tax, and statutory compliance.
· Advanced Excel skills and strong accounting systems experience.
· Experience with Xero or similar cloud-based accounting platforms.
Preferred Experience
· Completed SAICA articles or strong audit background advantageous.
· Experience in fintech, lending, investment, biotech, healthcare, automotive, or high-growth businesses.
· Multi-country or African operations exposure.
· Group consolidations, intercompany accounting, and treasury exposure.
· Experience supporting auditors, banks, lenders, investors, or external advisers.

Remuneration
Market-related salary based on experience and qualifications.
