Job description

A global organisation are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst Developer to join a large-scale payments modernisation programme.

This position is ideal for a senior developer with strong experience in Java, enterprise application development, systems integration, and payment technologies, working across the full software development lifecycle.

This will be a permanent position worked on a hybrid basis in Pretoria, South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyse business requirements and produce functional and technical specifications.
Design, develop, test, and support enterprise Java applications.
Develop and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and IBM MQ integrations.
Support system testing, defect resolution, deployments, and production releases.
Provide application support, incident resolution, and ongoing system maintenance.
Produce technical documentation and ensure compliance with SDLC and governance standards.
Collaborate with business, technical, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Skills Required:

Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
8+ years' experience in enterprise Java development.
Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, JPA, JDBC, IBM MQ/JMS, REST APIs, and Microservices.
Experience with Angular, GitLab/CI-CD, Java EE/Jakarta EE, XML, XSD, and Linux/Unix environments.
Knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience within payments or financial services.
Knowledge of ISO 15022 and ISO 20022 messaging standards.
