This role is suited to a senior professional with strong technical expertise, proven client leadership experience, commercial acumen and the ability to lead high-performing teams across complex audit and assurance engagements.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the strategic direction, growth, quality and operational performance of the Assurance Division. You will oversee significant client portfolios, provide senior technical and engagement leadership, strengthen key client relationships, contribute to business development and help develop the next generation of Assurance leaders.

Minimum Requirements

• Chartered Accountant designation – South African Institute of Chartered Accountants CA(SA)
• Registered Auditor (RA) designation with the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors
• Bachelor of Accounting / CTA or equivalent accredited qualification

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years in senior management or leadership capacity
• Proven experience managing large audit portfolios and teams
• Experience within a medium-to-large professional services or audit firm
• Demonstrated experience in business development and client relationship management

Preferred Experience

• Experience serving on leadership or operational committees
• Exposure to listed entities, public sector, or multinational audits
• Knowledge of integrated reporting and ESG assurance
• Experience with firm-wide operational planning and budgeting

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Assurance Director provides senior leadership, technical oversight and strategic support within the Assurance Division, contributing to quality, profitability, operational effectiveness and sustainable growth.

The role oversees significant assurance engagements, ensuring compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, firm methodologies and ethical obligations.

The incumbent will lead key client and stakeholder relationships, support business development and client retention, contribute to Assurance strategy and risk management, and help strengthen operational and quality performance.

A key focus of the role is also the development of future Assurance leaders through coaching, mentoring, succession planning and ongoing professional and technical development.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing significant and high-risk assurance engagements.
• Ensuring compliance with professional, regulatory and quality requirements.
• Managing portfolio profitability, WIP, recoverability, billing and resource utilisation.
• Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Supporting business development, client retention and new growth opportunities.
• Driving quality improvement, risk management and operational efficiency.
• Leading, coaching and developing Assurance employees and future leaders.
• Supporting recruitment, succession planning, professional development and SAICA Training Office requirements.
• Representing Moore Infinity in relevant professional, regulatory and industry engagements.
