Moore Infinity is looking to appoint a Senior Bookkeeper to strengthen our finance support capacity and continue delivering quality service to our clients.

This role plays an important part in accurate financial processing, statutory submissions, client portfolio support and meaningful management reporting.

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, detail-focused and deadline-driven, with the confidence to work independently, manage client relationships and support junior accountants or trainees when needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric

Essential Experience

• Minimum of 10 years’ bookkeeping experience, preferably within a group of companies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The successful candidate should have strong knowledge and practical experience in:

• Accounting principles and processes, from source documents through to financial statements
• IFRS for SMEs
• Compilation Engagement Standards
• Independent Review Engagement Standards
• Companies Act
• Income Tax Act
• VAT Act
• Department of Labour reporting requirements
• SARS processes and requirements
• Excellent Excel skills
• Various accounting and payroll software applications

The following will be advantageous:

• CaseWare Working Papers experience
• Financial statement preparation experience
• Xero Certified Advisor status
• Xero experience

The following are non-negotiable:

• Client relationship management experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing fee proposals for clients
• Processing financial information accurately and timeously
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations
• Calculating VAT and EMP return information and reconciliations
• Completing VAT and EMP returns
• Processing payroll information
• Maintaining fixed asset registers
• Calculating wear-and-tear allowances
• Calculating and preparing COID Return of Earnings
• Managing SARS verifications, audits and queries
• Managing allocated client portfolios and maintaining strong client relationships
• Calculating provisional tax information
• Preparing formal and standard management reports
• Performing analytical procedures and understanding the purpose and results
• Preparing financial statement compilations
• Preparing independent review procedures and engagements for financial statements
• Responding to client queries and collaborating with related departments and senior team members
• Reviewing work completed by junior accountants and trainees
• Submitting and filing VAT and EMP returns
• Submitting COIDA Return of Earnings
• Reviewing financial statement compilations
• Reviewing independent review engagements
• Presenting management reports to senior client management
• Reviewing, sending and following up on client fee proposals
