Senior Bookkeeper - Pipeline

The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for supporting and overseeing key financial and accounting functions, including financial reporting, working capital management, internal controls and financial processes. The role will also provide supervision and support to the finance team while ensuring accurate financial information, compliance with relevant regulations and the effective implementation of financial SOPs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare, collate and interpret accurate financial reports to support management decision-making.
• Oversee and support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Manage and monitor inventory control and related financial processes.
• Assist with managing operating and working capital requirements.
• Ensure compliance with tax requirements, statutory regulations and relevant financial legislation.
• Coordinate and support the audit process, ensuring that required documentation and financial statements are prepared accurately and timeously.
• Assist with budget preparation, monitoring and variance analysis.
• Implement, maintain and continuously improve internal financial controls and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and operational efficiencies.
• Supervise, support and provide guidance to members of the finance team.
• Liaise effectively with management, internal stakeholders and external service providers.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Financial Management, Accounting or a related field.
• A valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence and own reliable vehicle.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior Bookkeeper or similar finance role.
• A sound understanding of the overall finance and accounting function, with a hands-on approach.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience using Sage 50, Sage 200 or a similar accounting system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Previous experience within the FMCG, Fast Food or Retail sector will be advantageous.
• Cost accounting experience will be advantageous.
