Job description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing accounts, ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting colleagues with exceptional service. This position is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast paced environment, has strong technical accounting knowledge, and takes pride in delivering work of the highest standard.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance.
- Process journals and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Manage debtors and creditors, including reconciliations
- Prepare and review VAT calculations
- Payroll administrator
- Compile monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
- Liaise with colleagues regarding accounting queries and financial information requirements.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software, including Pastel, Sage Accounting.
- Solid understanding of VAT legislation, accounting principles, and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent organisational, time-management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping.
- Minimum 5 years' bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
