Job description
What does the company do?
White Lotus Bookkeeping provides accounting and bookkeeping services to nonprofit organizations, helping their leaders stay informed and organized so they can focus on serving their communities.
We are looking for a proactive problem solver who communicates clearly and follows through. You will become the day-to-day contact for a client portfolio, supported by an Advisor for technical coaching, review, and escalations.
What skills and experience are required?
- Clear spoken and written communication and a strong service mindset.
- Initiative, persistent problem-solving, organization, and dependable follow-through.
- Coachability and evidence that you learn from feedback.
- Technology savviness: confidence using digital tools, learning new software quickly, and troubleshooting everyday technology issues.
- Accuracy with financial information and sound judgment about when to ask for help or escalate.
- Willingness to be online from 8am EST to 4pm EST.
- Fast, reliable internet with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload
Accounting, bookkeeping, QuickBooks Online, and nonprofit experience are helpful. We welcome transferable skills and strong learning ability; accounting-firm experience is not required.
What does success look like?
- Clients stay informed: you own day-to-day communication, routine meetings, follow-up, deadlines, and next steps.
- Work is accurate and ready for review: you coordinate delivery from gathering information through completing bookkeeping, reconciliations, entries, and month-end work in QuickBooks Online as your competence develops.
- Problems move toward resolution: you investigate questions using documentation and approved tools, verify answers, and escalate unresolved issues before accuracy or deadlines are at risk, explaining what you tried.
- Your independence grows: you apply feedback, document what you learn, and handle similar tasks independently.
Your Advisor provides training, technical guidance, and additional review as you develop ownership. You can grow in expertise and client responsibility without moving into coaching.
When applying, include your experience and an example of a difficult problem you investigated, how you verified the answer, and what you learned from feedback.
