Senior Communications Officer at Parliament

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Facilitating the delivery of DA parliamentary communication to the media
• Writing high-quality press releases and media advisories, often under tight deadlines
• Monitoring political developments in the media
• Assisting with the planning and coordination of DA parliamentary media events
• Supporting the Party’s Sunday media operation
• Maintaining and updating accurate media databases for DA parliamentary communications
• Guide communication officer on the media processes, and daily workflow

Minimum requirements:

• Communications, public relations or media related qualification of a B-Tech or Bachelor’s Degree level or higher
• 4 years’ experience in a similar role/field
• Experience in the field of politics (advantageous)
• Staff management experience (advantageous)
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Smartsheet)
• Experience with WordPress (advantageous)
