We are looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our technology team and play a key role in protecting critical information, systems and digital services within the telecommunications industry.

This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who wants to combine deep technical expertise, security engineering, incident response and strategic thinking.

THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER CYBERSECURITY ROLE

You will sit at the intersection of technology, risk and security, helping to identify threats, respond to incidents, strengthen controls and build a more resilient digital environment.

You will have exposure across:

️ EDR / XDR

Detect, investigate, contain and respond to endpoint threats.

SIEM / SOC

Monitor security events, analyse logs, investigate incidents and drive remediation.

Identity & Access Management

MFA, SSO, privileged access, identity lifecycle and access governance.

Data Security

Microsoft Purview, DLP, information classification, labelling and data protection.

Web & API Security

WAF, OWASP threats, API authentication, authorisation, rate limiting and gateway controls.

Incident Response

Lead investigations, containment, remediation, root cause analysis and post incident reviews.

• ️ Vulnerability Management

Identify, prioritise and drive remediation of cybersecurity vulnerabilities.* ️ Cloud & Network Security

Assess and strengthen security controls across cloud, network and internet facing environments. DevSecOps & Application Security

Secure SDLC, SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets management, CI/CD security and secure code review.

Container & Cloud Native Security

Container image scanning, Kubernetes security, CSPM and CNAPP.

Email Security

Anti phishing, SPF, DKIM, DMARC and business email compromise investigations.

Cryptography & PKI

Encryption standards, certificate lifecycle management, key management and TLS.

Threat Intelligence

Interpret emerging threats and attacker techniques, then translate intelligence into practical defensive action.

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

You will:

• Lead and support cybersecurity incident response activities
• Investigate security incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Operate and oversee core cybersecurity capabilities across endpoint, SIEM, identity, data, email and web security
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities within the cybersecurity domain
• Develop, implement and enforce security standards
• Establish and maintain API security standards aligned with the OWASP API Security Top 10
• Develop and enforce secure development standards across the organisation
• Assess technical designs and identify security weaknesses
• Recommend practical security controls based on risk
• Interpret threat intelligence and emerging attack techniques
• Support vulnerability management and penetration testing remediation
• Work closely with technical teams, senior stakeholders and external cybersecurity providers
• Contribute to security governance, risk and compliance activities
• Mentor junior cybersecurity team members and contribute to technical workstreams

THE TECHNOLOGY YOU'LL WORK WITH

We are looking for someone who enjoys getting into the technology.

Experience with technologies such as:

CrowdStrike or similar EDR / XDR platforms

Arctic Wolf or similar SIEM / SOC technologies

Microsoft Entra ID, PIM, Defender for Cloud Apps and Intune

Microsoft Purview and DLP

KnowBe4 or similar security awareness platforms

Cloudflare or similar WAF technologies

Tenable or similar vulnerability management platforms

will be highly advantageous.

Experience with Python, PowerShell, KQL or other scripting technologies will also be advantageous.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience

✔ 7+ years of progressive cybersecurity or information security experience

✔ Strong hands on technical cybersecurity experience

✔ Security operations, incident response and threat detection experience

✔ Experience operating or overseeing SOC and SIEM capabilities

✔ Enterprise EDR / XDR experience

✔ Identity and access management experience

✔ Microsoft Purview and DLP experience

✔ Web application and API security knowledge

✔ Vulnerability management and penetration testing remediation experience

✔ Experience engaging with technical teams, senior stakeholders and external security providers

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in:

Cybersecurity | Information Security | Computer Science | Information Technology | Related discipline

A relevant postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.

CERTIFICATIONS THAT WILL SET YOU APART

One or more recognised cybersecurity certifications will be highly advantageous:

CISSP | CISM | CEH | GIAC

along with relevant:

Microsoft Security | EDR / XDR | Security Operations | Web Security | Application Security

certifications.
