Join Our Team as a Senior Financial Accountant at KFC Rohloff Group!

Are you passionate about financial excellence, driving compliance, and delivering accurate financial insights that support business growth? We're looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team at KFC Rohloff Group. In this role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end accounting function for our commercial entities, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records while driving strong financial controls, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement across accounting processes and systems.

What You'll Be Cooking Up:

Entity Accounting Ownership

• Own and manage the accounting function for Group Commercial Entities.
• Ensure accurate, complete, and compliant financial records.
• Monitor financial performance and investigate variances.

Act as the primary finance contact for assigned entities and stakeholders.

Month-End & Year-End Reporting

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.

• Prepare and review journals, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.

• Ensure reporting deadlines are met with accuracy and consistency.

• Prepare management accounts and provide financial insights to stakeholders.

• Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly financial reporting packs and supporting schedules.

• Analyse financial results and explain significant variances.

• Support group reporting and consolidation requirements.

• Provide meaningful financial insights to support business performance.

Statutory Compliance & Tax

• Prepare and review VAT reconciliations and submissions.
• Support tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
• Ensure all submissions are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for compliance purposes.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations

• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations including:
• Bank accounts
• Debtors
• Creditors
• Loans Intercompany
• Intercompany accounts
• VAT
• Payroll
• Accruals
• Fixed assets
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Maintain clear audit trails and supporting documentation.

Fixed Asset Management

• Manage fixed asset accounting and reconciliations.
• Liaise with the Operational Accounting team regarding allocations and accounting treatments.
• Ensure accurate recording and reporting of asset movements.
• Audit & Financial Statements
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Act as the key contact for external auditors.
• Manage audit queries and requests efficiently.
• Support the preparation of annual financial statements.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement within accounting processes and controls.
• Support the optimization and enhancement of Business Central.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain documented accounting policies and procedures.

Internal Controls & Governance

• Maintain effective financial controls and policy compliance.
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigating controls.
• Support governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Promote best-practice financial management across the business.

What You Bring to the Table:

• BCom Accounting or equivalent Accounting qualification.
• 5+ years' relevant accounting experience.
• Experience managing the full accounting function for multiple entities.
• Strong experience with month-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Experience with audits, statutory reporting, and financial statement preparation.
• Practical experience in VAT and tax compliance.
• Experience using Business Central or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced balance sheet reconciliation experience.
• Strong financial accounting knowledge.
• Sound understanding of IFRS.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes.
• Strong planning and organizational capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
