Senior Full Stack Developer

Rest Group is recruiting on behalf of our client, an established South African technology company operating a digital platforms business, for two Senior Full-Stack Developers to strengthen its development team. This is a senior, hands-on engineering role for a strong Node.js developer ready to take on complex backend, security, and integration work in a fast-paced environment.

This role combines hands-on full-stack Node.js development with senior technical responsibilities spanning code management, AWS security, technical troubleshooting, and third-party system integrations - contributing directly to the stability and growth of the client's digital platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Software Development & Code Management

Work as a strong Node.js full-stack developer, building and maintaining high-quality code across backend and frontend (React JS).

Manage GitHub code repositories, following version control best practices including branching, pull requests, and code review.

Support the deployment of code changes, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.

Write comprehensive unit tests to ensure code reliability and adherence to expected behaviour.

AWS Infrastructure & Security

Apply AWS security best practices across the development environment and applications.

Assist with managing access controls and team permissions within AWS.

Participate in disaster recovery (DR) testing to ensure the resilience of critical systems.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

Act as a point of contact for technical query escalations, including complex system and transaction issues.

Diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues with strong analytical and root-cause skills.

Integrations & Collaboration

Lead and execute technical integrations with third-party content partners, ensuring seamless data flow.

Collaborate closely with product, business analysis, and support functions to deliver integrated solutions.

Provide technical guidance and support to other developers on the team as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

7+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in full-stack Node.js development, with strong React JS front-end skills.

Proven senior-level experience, ideally having guided or supported other developers.

Extensive experience with Git and GitHub for code repository management.

Hands-on experience with AWS security configuration and IAM/permissions management.

Demonstrable experience with content partner or third-party API integrations.

Solid experience with unit testing frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Jest, Mocha).

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

WHAT'S ON OFFER

Remuneration: R1,000,000 – R1,200,000 per annum (CTC), commensurate with experience
