About Langford Staffing Langford Staffing is a growing recruitment and workforce-services company supporting businesses with hiring, onboarding, employee administration, and workforce management.
We are strengthening our internal HR function to provide employees and managers with consistent support across onboarding, training, performance, leave administration, employee relations, and offboarding.
About The Role Langford Staffing is hiring a Senior HR Generalist to manage day-to-day HR operations while leading company-wide onboarding and employee training.
This person must be outgoing, confident, and comfortable speaking with employees and managers throughout the day. You will lead live onboarding sessions, explain policies and expectations, encourage participation, assess employee understanding, and provide retraining when procedures are not being followed.
A major part of the role will involve building and improving structured training modules. You will be expected to turn policies, procedures, and company standards into clear presentations, facilitator guides, quizzes, scenarios, checklists, readiness assessments, and supporting materials.
You must also be comfortable using AI tools to help research, organize, draft, improve, and update training content while applying your own judgment, fact-checking the material, protecting confidential information, and ensuring everything accurately reflects company requirements.
The role also includes employee relations, performance documentation, probation tracking, attendance, leaves, employee records, and offboarding.
This is not an HR Coordinator position. We are looking for an experienced generalist who can independently manage routine HR matters, build effective training programs, support managers, and recognize when an issue requires escalation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver new-hire orientation and foundational company training
- Build training modules from company policies, procedures, systems, and workplace standards
- Create presentations, facilitator guides, quizzes, scenarios, checklists, reference materials, and readiness assessments
- Use AI tools to support training development, research, content organization, assessment creation, and material updates
- Review and validate all AI-assisted content before it is used
- Train employees on workplace expectations, policies, communication standards, systems, and procedures
- Keep training sessions engaging, interactive, and easy to understand
- Assess whether new employees are ready to move into role-specific training
- Update training materials when policies, systems, or business processes change
- Provide retraining when employees are not following policies or established procedures
- Determine whether an issue is caused by insufficient training, unclear expectations, poor performance, or misconduct
- Document coaching, retraining, warnings, required improvements, and follow-up
- Manage onboarding, employee changes, probation tracking, and offboarding
- Maintain complete and confidential employee records
- Administer vacation, sick leave, attendance, and other approved leaves
- Support managers with employee relations, performance concerns, coaching, and documentation
- Answer employee questions about policies, procedures, attendance, and workplace expectations
- Maintain HR policies, templates, handbooks, and standard documentation
- Prepare reports on onboarding, training, attendance, leaves, probation, turnover, and employee relations
- Coordinate with recruitment, payroll, operations, and department managers
- Escalate serious, sensitive, legal, medical, or high-risk matters appropriately
Education And Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Labour Relations, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience
- Candidates with 6–8+ years of broad HR experience are strongly preferred
- At least 2 years of direct experience delivering onboarding, policy training, process training, or corrective retraining
- Direct experience building structured training modules from the beginning
- Experience creating presentations, facilitator guides, assessments, quizzes, scenarios, checklists, and training documentation
- Practical experience using AI tools to support training development, research, drafting, assessment creation, or content improvement
- Ability to review AI-generated material for accuracy, tone, confidentiality, and alignment with company policies
- Experience in a broad HR Generalist, HR Advisor, HR Business Partner, or comparable role
- Strong experience with onboarding, offboarding, employee records, attendance, leaves, and probation tracking
- Experience supporting employee relations, coaching, warnings, and performance concerns
- Strong written and spoken English
- Confident, outgoing, and engaging communication style
- Strong live facilitation, presentation, and group-training skills
- Comfortable asking direct questions, encouraging participation, and checking understanding
- Able to balance a warm and approachable manner with clear standards and accountability
- Strong organization, judgment, discretion, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while recognizing when escalation is required
- Ability to work full-time during Ontario / Eastern Time business hours
- Reliable computer equipment, high-speed internet, headset, webcam, and a professional remote workspace
Preferred Experience Previous experience supporting North American companies is strongly preferred.
- Staffing or recruitment
- Professional services
- Technology or SaaS
- Business-process outsourcing
- Remote or distributed workforces
- Learning and development
- Adult-learning principles

- Policy and compliance training
- HRIS or learning-management systems

The Person We Are Looking For
You are outgoing, approachable, and comfortable leading a room, even in a virtual environment.
You know how to turn detailed policies and procedures into practical training that employees can understand, remember, and apply.
You do not simply read from a presentation. You ask questions, use realistic scenarios, encourage participation, confirm understanding, and adjust your approach when someone is struggling.
You are comfortable using AI to work faster and improve training materials, but you do not rely on it blindly. You review the content, correct mistakes, protect confidential information, and ensure the final material is accurate and appropriate.
You are also comfortable having direct conversations when expectations are not being met.
You can distinguish between an employee who needs additional training and an employee who understands the expectations but is choosing not to follow them.
You are organized, discreet, dependable, and able to support both employees and managers while maintaining clear standards.
What Success Looks Like
- New employees receive consistent and engaging onboarding
- Training modules are clear, accurate, current, and professionally organized
- Employees understand company policies, systems, and workplace expectations
- New hires are properly assessed before role-specific training
- AI is used responsibly to improve training quality, speed, and consistency
- Retraining is documented and followed by measurable improvement
- Managers receive practical and timely HR support
- Employee records, leaves, attendance
