Department University of Venda -> Vice Chancellor and Principal -> Corporate Services -> Human Resources Job Title SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCE BUSINESS PARTNER Post Level Grade 7 Job Type Support - Univen Funded Closing Date 31/7/2026 Job Requirements An Honours degree or equivalent in Human Resources, coupled with five years’ relevant experience, preferably within the higher education sector. In addition, candidates should
- Be competent in the Microsoft suite and have working knowledge of HR Information Systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, ITS – preferable)
- Be registered with an HR professional body.
- Have effective communication and report writing skills as well as the ability to build rapport with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Have solid technical knowledge of the full HR value chain
- Have working knowledge of HR standards
- Be innovative and able to come up with strategies that enhance the Human Resources agenda.
- A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.
Duties
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for the following:
- Interpreting business and HR strategies, policies and guidelines.
- Leading the implementation, enablement, as well as the delivery of the HR agenda to the University.
- Champion implementation as well as best-in-class Human Resources activities
- Enhance the attainment of university objectives as well as operational and service excellence.
- Build a strong, collaborative and efficient team.
- Establish and promote a collaborative and solution-driven approach within the team as well as with other HR functions and the other internal departments, as well as external stakeholders.
- Optimally and efficiently manage allocated resources. The candidate will be expected to manage and mitigate risks.
- Mentor junior staff
- Ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Ensure efficient partnership with Faculties, Departments and Directorates and alignment of HR goals and objectives with the strategies and needs of such Faculties, Departments and Directorates.
