Senior Internal Auditor

BMMCA is a professional accounting and audit advisory firm. The firm has four (4) established departments; Accounting, Tax, Payroll and Audit and is currently seeking to hire an experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join the Audit and Advisory department.

Responsibilities

Identifying risks associated with the processes that are in place, including risk and control matrix development and maintenance.

System description and review of control environment.

Assessing the level of risk.

Identifying key controls to mitigate/manage risks identified.

Determining whether controls identified are adequate and effective.

Control Self-Assessment design, preparation, distribution, response collation and results reporting.

Preparation of audit working papers and completion of approved audit procedures.

Review of key processes with process owners including signing off key processes.

Reporting on identified deficiencies and making recommendations.

Remedial actions follow up (Issue Tracking) and maintenance.

Skills and Experience

Bcom/BTech Internal Audit or Accounting degree.

Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), or other relevant professional institution such as SAICA (Advantageous)

3-6 years’+ experience in internal audit environment including risk management.

Experience in public sector including knowledge of public sector laws and regulations.

Strong understanding of;

• Internal controls and audit methodologies
• Control self-assessments
• Combined assurance engagements
• Internal audits/reviews
• Compliance frameworks
• Strong analytical, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills
• High integrity, independence and professional scepticism

Reporting

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Senior Internal Audit Manager.

Remuneration

Offer will depend on candidate’s in-depth knowledge and experience especially on control self-assessments.

Pay: R20 000,00 - R35 000,00 per month
