VKB Milling (Pty) Ltd is one of four subsidiaries of VKB Agri Processors (Pty) Ltd, the agri-processing division of the VKB Group. VKB Milling (Pty) Ltd operates white maize mills in Mokopane and Louis Trichardt in Limpopo, and Mashishing in Mpumalanga, as well as a wheat mill and bakery in Frankfort in the Free State.

JOB FUNCTION
The Inventory Clerk assists with stock control activities, maintains accurate stock records, performs stock counts, updates systems, and supports inventory integrity within the warehouse environment clerks as well as ensures compliance with company policies and ensuring adherence to Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12/ Std 10 / NQF Level 4
- 1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience with stock counting and stock reconciliation
- Commitment to safety and quality procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
JOB DESCRIPTION

Report stock discrepancies

Identify differences between physical stock and system quantities, document findings, and escalate discrepancies for investigation to ensure accurate inventory records.Mokopane maize transfer and water calculation

Manage the transfer of maize quantities into the Mokopane area, perform water calculations for production batches, and ensure accurate posting into relevant systems.Assist in receiving and issuing stock

Support warehouse and production teams by checking incoming goods for accuracy, capturing quantities, and issuing stock to departments according to operational requirements.Maintain inventory documentation

Ensure all stock-related paperwork, system entries, GRVs, delivery notes, and transaction records are properly updated, organized, and stored for audit readiness.Ensure proper stock storage practices

Monitor adherence to FIFO, correct pallet stacking, temperature/humidity requirements, and safe storage procedures to maintain product quality and prevent losses.Breakbulk daily stock takes and checking the differences

Perform daily physical counts in breakbulk areas, compare to system quantities, and follow up on any differences or errors found.Posting stock take adjustment

Capture and post system adjustments arising from cycle counts or full stock counts to keep inventory databases accurate and up to date.Pallet transfer from packing to warehouse

Record and oversee the movement of finished product pallets from the packing floor into the warehouse, ensuring proper documentation and bin allocation.Damage transfer from breakbulk to damage store

Identify damaged goods, document the quantities, and transfer them to the designated damage store following internal procedures.Posting of potties pelleting

Capture all pelleting done in the Potties area, ensuring accurate system posting to reflect production and stock movement.Packing usages bags and damage bags

Monitor packing material usage, record damaged or unused bags, and ensure correct consumption posting for production accuracy.Spillage from packing and mill

Document and record all spillage generated during packing or milling processes, ensuring transparency and accurate loss reporting.Filling

Support the filling process by monitoring stock usage, verifying output, and ensuring accurate posting of all filled product quantities.Chop sales report

Compile and generate the chop sales report, ensuring all sales quantities, pricing, and movement data are accurate and submitted timeously.Extraction report

Prepare the extraction report by analysing production inputs vs outputs to measure efficiency and yield.Rand report

Generate the Rand report reflecting the monetary value of stock movements, variances, or sales for financial tracking.Weight report

Produce weight-based reports detailing tonnage, product movement, and consumption for operational and management use.Attending to queries of raw material from suppliers

Provide support to suppliers by addressing queries regarding deliveries, quality concerns, shortages, or documentation discrepancies.Updating suppliers daily excel sheet

Update and maintain the daily supplier Excel register, ensuring all deliveries, quantities, and batch information are current and accurate.Tracking of contractor’s compliance with safex registration

Monitor contractor registration status on Safex, track compliance documents, and ensure all contractors meet regulatory requirements before executing transactions.Booking of trucks

Arrange and coordinate truck bookings for dispatch or collections, ensuring transporter availability, correct loading times, and communication with logistics teams.Stationery orders and purchase orders

Request, process, and follow up on stationery orders and other purchase orders, ensuring approvals are captured and documentation is accurately filed.Compliance & Safety

Full compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety, and biosecurity requirements

Proper application of site procedures for rejected, segregated, or restricted grain loads

Prompt reporting of incidents, hazards, and non-conformances

Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP procedures throughout the grading area.
