Senior IT Specialist

Working Hours:

• Full-time (40 hours per week) — typically Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• May include after-hours or weekend work for system maintenance, upgrades, or support emergencies.

Job Summary:

The IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing an organization’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems. This role ensures the efficient, secure, and reliable operation of all technology assets across the company.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Technical Support:
• Provide Tier 1–3 support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve user incidents efficiently via remote or on-site assistance.
• System Administration:
• Manage and monitor servers, storage, and user accounts (Active Directory, Microsoft 365, etc.).
• Install, configure, and update operating systems and applications.
• Network Management:
• Maintain switches, routers, and wireless access points (Cisco, HP, or similar).
• Monitor network performance, connectivity, and security.
• Configure VLANs, firewalls, and VPN access.
• Security and Compliance:
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures, including antivirus, patch management, and access control.
• Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery tests.
• Infrastructure Projects:
• Participate in IT infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and deployments (cloud, on-premises, or hybrid).
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers for IT-related services and procurement.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, and procedures.
• Prepare technical reports and system performance summaries.
• User Training:
• Conduct IT orientation sessions for new employees.
• Provide user training on cybersecurity awareness and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Certifications preferred: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft (MCSA/MD-102), Cisco (CCNA), or ITIL.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with Windows/Linux environments, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and Office 365.
