Job description
Pitsana Mills is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Maintenance Plant Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all plant equipment through preventative, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance. This position requires a hands-on individual who is equally comfortable performing routine maintenance activities such as greasing and inspections, as well as carrying out complex fault finding, precision maintenance, equipment alignment, and major mechanical repairs.

Salary: Market Related (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications)
Employment Type: Full-time/Permanent (On-site) – Standby duty as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment.
- Perform routine lubrication, greasing, inspections and servicing of production equipment.
- Conduct daily plant inspections and identify potential mechanical failures before breakdowns occur.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform precision maintenance including equipment alignment, bearing replacement, shaft alignment and balancing where required.
- Repair, overhaul and rebuild mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and other production machinery.
- Replace bearings, seals, chains, sprockets, belts, couplings and other mechanical components.
- Install, commission and test new equipment.
- Ensure machinery operates efficiently with minimum downtime.
- Complete planned maintenance schedules within required timeframes.
- Respond rapidly to production breakdowns to restore operations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards and spare parts usage.
- Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and recommend permanent corrective actions.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects to improve plant reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping within the workshop and plant.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, food safety standards, and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Work closely with production personnel to minimise operational interruptions.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' proven maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing plant.
- Experience in a grain processing or milling plant will be highly advantageous.
- Trade qualification (Millwright, Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Mechanical Technician, Electrician or similar) will be advantageous.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, elevators, pumps, motors, fans and production machinery.
- Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Basic electrical fault-finding ability will be advantageous.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, maintenance manuals and engineering specifications.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, standby and after-hours when required.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
