Purpose of the Position:
- To support the Canal+ Africa CFO, Canal+ Africa SVP Financial Services and Canal+ Group and Africa Finance teams
- To manage financial consolidation and accounting across 20+ countries, 8+ clusters and 70+ MCG entities in Africa
- To ensure accurate, complete, and timely reporting of financial figures
- To support standardisation, governance, and financial integrity across MCG systems, processes, entities and markets
- To work closely with the Canal+ Africa Consolidation team responsible for the historic Canal+ International perimeter
- To work closely with the Canal+ Africa FP&A & Reporting team, as well as tax and treasury teams
Key Objectives Tasks
Financial Consolidation
- Oversee consolidation processes across the MCG Africa entities and markets
- Manage cluster, BU and entity delivery to MCG Consolidation team at Canal+ Africa level
- Support Canal+ Africa MCG subsidiaries (instructions, timelines, training etc.)
- Oversee consolidation for month-end and semi-annual reporting, budgets, RF1 and RF2
- Oversee intercompany reconciliation process
Reporting, Accounting, Tax & Audit
- Ensure IFRS and Group accounting policy compliance, notably in complex areas
- Co-ordinate complex accounting (FX, derivatives, IFRS 2, IFRS 16 etc.)
- Support Canal+ Africa MCG subsidiary teams (accounting best practice etc.)
- Work with tax teams to ensure accurate tax processing in accounts and packages
- Support group disclosures, AFS inputs and audit processes
Systems, Process, Controls & Data Integrity
- Work with Shared Services Centre and clusters to align chart of accounts and mappings
- Implement scope changes (entities added or removed, changes in minorities etc.)
- Ensure effective Internal Financial Controls are embedded within consolidation processes
- Support data quality and automation initiatives to secure process, cost and time efficiencies
- Identify, monitor and remediate reporting and consolidation risks
Qualifications
- CA(SA), DEC or equivalent preferable
- Relevant postgraduate finance qualification advantageous (e.g. CIMA, ACCA)
Experience
- 5-10 years in finance, with extensive group consolidation and reporting exposure
- Financial systems and/or IFRS technical expertise a bonus
- Experience in complex, multi-national / multi-entity / multi-currency environments
- Leadership experience in managing teams and engaging with senior stakeholders
