Job Summary

The Senior Specialist: Organisational Management is accountable for defining, embedding, and continuously evolving organisational management practices that enable Absa’s strategy execution, workforce sustainability, and operating model effectiveness across the pan‑African group. The role leads enterprise‑wide organisational management capability, translating strategy into scalable structural frameworks, governance standards, and actionable insights that support business performance, regulatory integrity, and long‑term organisational health.Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Enterprise Organisational Management Practice Development

  • Define, evolve and embed organisational management standards, methodologies and operating practices aligned to Absa’s strategy and pan‑African operating context.
  • Drive consistency, scalability and maturity of organisational management practices across business units while enabling local market flexibility.

Strategic Organisational Design and Structural Enablement

  • Lead complex organisational design initiatives supporting strategic shifts, operating model evolution, mergers, acquisitions, and transformation programmes.
  • Translate business strategy into sustainable organisational structures, spans of control and accountability models that optimise performance and cost efficiency.

Role, Position and Job Architecture Governance

  • Provide enterprise oversight and decision authority on role design, position frameworks and job architecture alignment at senior and critical role levels.
  • Ensure role clarity, differentiation and progression pathways that support talent, capability and succession strategies.

Workforce Planning Strategy Enablement and Scenario Modelling

  • Partner with senior leaders to shape workforce strategies through advanced scenario modelling, structural options analysis and future‑fit capability planning.
  • Interpret complex workforce and structural data to inform executive‑level decision‑making and long‑term resource optimisation.

Organisational Data, Insights and Decision Enablement

  • Own the integrity, structure and strategic use of organisational data as a decision‑enabling asset across the Group.
  • Translate organisational and workforce data into forward‑looking insights, trends and recommendations that influence strategic outcomes.

Governance, Risk and Regulatory Assurance Leadership

  • Design and enforce organisational management governance frameworks that meet regulatory, audit and risk requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Act as a trusted authority on organisational controls, approvals and compliance for senior stakeholders and regulators.

Senior Stakeholder Advisory and Influence

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executives, Human Capital leadership and business heads on organisational effectiveness and operating model choices.
  • Influence cross‑functional and senior forums to gain alignment on complex organisational decisions with enterprise‑wide impact.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education / Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree, Advanced Diploma, Postgraduate Certificate, or B.Tech (NQF Level 7) in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or related field.

Work Experience

  • 5 – 12 years experience in organisational management, organisational design, workforce strategy or related disciplines, including a track record of 3 years in a people management position.
