Job Title: Senior Manager: Strategic Communication

Job Grade: P6

Nature of employment: Permanent

Job Purpose:

To manage the strategic positioning of the organisation and internal and external brand engagement with CIPC.

Minimum Requirements

B Degree in Communications/Public Relations/Marketing/Journalism
6-10 years’ work experience in Marketing, Stakeholder Relations, Media Relations and Communications in the Private or Public Sector
At least 5 years’ experience at middle management or senior management

Duties and Responsibilities

Key performance areas:

To establish the Strategic Communication Business Unit as a pro-active, value-adding source of expertise, assistance and consulting advice;
To strategically direct and supervise the strategic communication activities of the CIPC;
To strategically direct and supervise the brand management activities of the CIPC;
To provide advice to the Commissioner and the executive on brand management and strategic communication matters and to represent the CIPC in relevant forums;
To manage and co-ordinate the strategic and business planning and budgeting for the Business Unit and monitor the implementation of the business plan and related projects;
To ensure adherence to human resource, financial and administrative strategies, policies and procedures in the Business Unit;
To ensure the proper administration, governance and risk management of the business unit.
