Job Advert Summary

The Senior Motion Graphics Designer is responsible for creating high-quality motion graphics, animations, video content, 3D visuals, visual effects, and digital assets for marketing, internal communications, product explainers, social media, advertising campaigns, and brand-led content.

This role requires a highly experienced creative professional who can work independently from concept to final delivery, while also supporting and mentoring junior and mid-level designers within the team. The ideal candidate should have strong design judgment, advanced technical ability, good communication skills, and the ability to deliver polished creative work under deadline pressure.

The role is suited to a heavyweight designer with strong experience across motion graphics, 3D animation, video editing, compositing, visual effects, AI-assisted production workflows, and multimedia content creation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Motion Graphics and Animation

• Create professional motion graphics for digital campaigns, social media, presentations, product videos, adverts, explainers, and internal communication videos.
• Develop animated titles, lower thirds, transitions, icon animations, infographics, call-to-action graphics, and full-screen motion graphic sequences.
• Translate scripts, storyboards, and marketing briefs into visually engaging animated content.
• Ensure all motion work follows brand guidelines and maintains a high standard of visual quality.

3D Design and Animation

• Create 3D models, textures, product visuals, environments, and animated sequences.
• Assist with 3D product visualisation, camera animation, lighting, rendering, and scene setup.
• Apply basic to advanced rigging and animation techniques where required.
• Prepare 3D assets for use in video, motion graphics, and campaign material.

Video Editing and Post-Production

• Edit video content for adverts, online media, internal videos, social media, product explainers, and longer-format content.
• Work with voice-over, music, sound effects, footage, stock assets, animation, and brand elements to create polished final videos.
• Perform colour correction, grading, audio cleanup, pacing, and final export for multiple platforms and formats.
• Prepare content in various aspect ratios including landscape, portrait, square, and social media formats.

Compositing and Visual Effects

• Perform compositing tasks such as chromakey/green screen work, rotoscoping, tracking, cleanup, matte painting, screen replacements, and visual effects integration.
• Combine live-action footage, 2D graphics, 3D renders, AI-generated assets, and photographic elements into seamless final compositions.
• Ensure final outputs are clean, professional, and technically correct.

AI-Assisted Creative Production

• Use AI image generation tools to create concept art, mood boards, visual references, storyboards, and campaign assets.
• Use AI video generation tools to support ideation, previsualisation, animated sequences, and production workflows.
• Understand how to write strong prompts, refine outputs, and integrate AI-generated visuals into professional production pipelines.
• Stay informed about emerging AI tools and how they can improve creative efficiency and output quality.

Photography and Videography

• Capture still photography and video footage when required for campaigns, internal content, product shoots, events, or social media.
• Assist with camera setup, lighting, framing, basic sound recording, and production planning.
• Work on location when required.

Mentorship and Team Support

• Mentor junior and mid-level designers by providing creative guidance, technical support, and feedback.
• Help improve team workflows, design consistency, file organisation, and production processes.
• Support the team in solving creative and technical challenges.
• Review work where needed and assist in maintaining high creative standards across the department.
