Senior .Net Developer

Job Description Develop and maintain high-quality desktop, web, API, and mobile applications using .NET and related Microsoft technologies to support Syspro’s product and internal development requirements. The role designs, builds, and enhances software solutions in line with architectural standards and business requirements, while researching and integrating new technologies to keep Syspro’s products current. It contributes to application stability, performance, and innovation through disciplined development practices, thorough documentation, and active collaboration with stakeholders, scrum teams, and support functions.

Job Requirements Minimum Level of Education   

• National Diploma or NQF 5 equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

Beneficial Qualifications   

• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g. Azure Developer Associate, .NET development) or equivalent technical credentials

Minimum Experience 

• 3–5 years of software development experience with demonstrable delivery of .NET-based applications across desktop, web, and API environments

 

Beneficial Experience 

• Experience developing and deploying Azure-based application services; exposure to mobile app development; prior work with conversational AI platforms such as Microsoft LUIS

Special Skills and Knowledge 

• Solid C#/.NET development skills across desktop, web, and API applications, with working knowledge of ASP.NET MVC and modern .NET development practices
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure application services, including deploying and configuring cloud-based solutions
• Competent front-end development skills using HTML5, JavaScript (including jQuery), and CSS3 to build functional, user-friendly interfaces
• Familiarity with Microsoft LUIS or other conversational AI platforms for building and integrating bot functionality into Syspro products
• Detail-oriented and well-organised, with strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to manage multiple deliverables within tight deadlines
• Good communication and collaboration skills, able to engage constructively with stakeholders, scrum teams, and cross-functional colleagues in an agile delivery environment

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain .NET-based desktop, web, API, and mobile applications in line with Syspro’s architecture standards and development procedures, delivering solutions that meet defined quality, performance, and security requirements.
• Research, evaluate, and integrate new and emerging technologies – including Azure services, conversational AI/LUIS, and modern web frameworks – to improve and extend Syspro’s product capabilities.
• Engage with stakeholders, product owners, and scrum teams to clarify requirements and business rules, translating them into accurate technical implementations delivered within agreed timelines.
• Identify, diagnose, and fix software bugs and technical issues in existing applications, maintaining stability and performance within agreed timelines.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for all development work, including design artefacts, technical specifications, process documents, version-controlled source code, and system backups.
• Support application deployment activities, assist end-users and internal teams with technical queries, and collaborate with support teams on third-party development and integration issues.
• Adhere to governance requirements – including company policies, security standards, and reporting obligations – and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices within the team
