Senior Operator X2 (Decontamination Services) Hay level 11/B4 (Internal/External)

Job Purpose

To ensure tasks relating to the dry decontamination facility (DDF) according to prescribed work procedures, nuclear license requirements and SHEQ standards.

Key Performance Areas

Job Requirements

1. Operate the Dry Decontamination activities

• Ensure the safe operation of the facility by overseeing the uranium inventory and acceptance criteria.
• Write work instruction and train personnel. .
• Strip the uranium contaminated aluminium fins from Quarantine store
• Compress the uranium contaminated compressible waste-into the 160lt drums and store at interim drum store.
• Evaporate uranium liquids in the geometrical safe evaporation pans.

2. Control Decontamination Services processes Ensure that the Dry

• Decontamination processes conform to Nuclear licensing requirements Inspect and ensure that the Dry Decontamination uranium contained drums at the interim store are stacked as prescribed.
• Check the uranium limits at Dry Decontamination to comply with the specification.
• Ensure that uranium components are accepted and cleared according to facility acceptance criteria.

3. Nuclear License and SHEQ standards Ensure that resource requirements are available for the effective and efficient operation of the facility.

• Issuing work permit for defects registered in the facility Conduct BBS to enhance the safety culture of Necsa
• Oversee/the facility equipment inspections and the non-compliances register job cards.
• Ensure that the housekeeping in the facility is maintained

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Grade 12/ Equivalent.

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 3 years in a chemical or radiological operations environment
