Job description

About the Role/Job Description:

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Senior Paid Media Specialist to join our remote team in South Africa. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with at least five years of hands-on experience who thrives in managing campaigns independently and delivering outstanding results.

As a Senior Paid Media Specialist, you’ll oversee a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries, encompassing both B2B and B2C sectors. You’ll work end-to-end on strategy and implementation, driving performance across various advertising platforms, including Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, Reddit, LinkedIn and TikTok.

Even though this is not a client-facing role, collaboration is a cornerstone of our approach. While you’ll lead strategy and performance for your accounts, you’ll work closely with our design team, account managers, and other specialists to ensure each campaign delivers on its objectives.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Campaign Strategy & Management:

  • Develop and execute data-driven Paid Media strategies tailored to client objectives across various industries and sectors.
  • Build, manage, and optimise campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and Reddit.
  • Stay updated on platform changes and proactively suggest new opportunities to expand client success.
  • Manage budgets efficiently to maximise performance.

Performance Optimisation:

  • Monitor and optimise campaign performance to achieve KPIs.
  • Conduct A/B testing on ads, audiences, bidding strategies, creatives, and landing pages.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop impactful creatives and assets.
  • Ensure seamless tracking and attribution using tools like Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
  • Analyse user behaviour to identify conversion rate optimisation opportunities.

Collaboration & Reporting:

  • Work closely with account managers to align on client goals and deliver clear, actionable performance reports.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to optimise client budgets and unlock growth opportunities.
  • Offer creative feedback and suggestions to enhance campaign performance.

Continuous Development:

  • Maintain certifications in Google Ads and other relevant platforms.
  • Proactively explore and recommend new advertising channels or techniques to improve agency offerings.
  • Contribute to the agency’s collective knowledge by sharing insights, trends, and best practices.
  • Build familiarity with tools used across the agency, including Figma, n8n, Miro and Claude.
  • Continuously improve your use of AI and automation tools to increase efficiency.
  • Sharing knowledge of industry trends and new tools to help improve and streamline workflows.

Key skills & competencies:

Our ideal candidate is self-sufficient and highly organised, able to collaborate with various departments, and comfortable communicating with team members in a timely manner via video calls and Slack messages. On the odd occasion, you may also be required to join client meetings.

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience managing paid media campaigns, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Proven expertise in Google Ads and Meta, as well as familiarity with other platforms such as Microsoft Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn and Reddit.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in spreadsheets and tools like Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Certifications in Google Ads are required; certifications in other platforms are advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • High level of organisation with the ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
  • A collaborative team player who communicates effectively and proactively contributes to shared success.
  • A mix of creative and logical thinking, able to ideate as well as implement and optimise campaigns.
  • Passion for staying ahead of trends in paid media and digital marketing.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify insights and develop strategies to optimise and scale performance.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with landing page optimisation and CRO.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Clarity or similar behavioural analytics tools.
  • Experience using Data Studio for reporting.
  • Knowledge of AI tools and workflow automation.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, remote position. Although we have an HQ in the UK, this role typically works from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM South African time.

Benefits & Culture

When we're in work mode, we're all about focus and delivering results - but we're also down-to-earth people who know how to have fun and enjoy what we do. In our weekly retro, the conversations can range from the latest football stats to arguing about the best TV shows (hint: It’s Breaking Bad) to gaming and anime. We also love to play the game Werewolf - you have been warned!

Although we’re a mostly remote team, we do regular team-building events and an annual end-of-year celebration where we try to get as many of the team together as possible for a few days of fun.

  • Fully remote
  • Above-market salary paid in GBP
  • Annual training budget
  • Generous leave policy of 37 days per year (includes your birthday, all public holidays in your country of residence as well as a company-wide shutdown period over Christmas)
  • Collaborative environment - so you won’t disappear and your efforts get noticed.
  • Equipment provided*
  • Regular staff/team building events
  • Carbon offsetting for all team members through Ecologi
  • Remote role with high autonomy
