Company Description GeT Metal Group (GMG), founded by entrepreneurs Andrew Bishop and Ebrahim Khan, is a fast-growing leader in the South African industrial metals sector. The group manages a substantial portfolio of industrial assets and heavy industry infrastructure across more than 300,000 square meters. GMG’s operations include GeT Alloys and GeT Steel in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, as well as GeT Fuel in Cape Town. The group also oversees Eclipse Foundry (to be rebranded as GeT Castings), Standard Foundry (to be repurposed as a multi-use industrial operation), and Naledi Foundry in Johannesburg. Role Description The Senior Payroll and Systems Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Somerset West. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll administration, including processing monthly payroll, maintaining accurate employee records, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax and labor regulations. The position manages payroll systems and related HR information systems, including configuration, data integrity, troubleshooting, and process optimization. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with HR and Finance, handling payroll queries, preparing payroll reports, reconciling payroll data, and supporting audits. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, implements system enhancements, and helps standardize payroll and HR processes across the group.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in payroll administration, including end-to-end processing, statutory deductions, and compliance with South African labor and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll and HRIS systems, with skills in system configuration, data management, troubleshooting, and process automation.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, including reconciliations, reporting, and collaboration with Finance on payroll-related entries.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and other relevant office software for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with HR, Finance, and operational teams.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly and maintain high ethical standards.
- Relevant qualification in Payroll, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field; professional payroll or HR certifications are an advantage.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy industry environments is beneficial.
