Requirements

  • An ECSA-accredited BTech/BEng/BSc qualification in Civil or

Structural Engineering.

  • Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng),

Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng).

  • 5–8 years’ post-qualification technical and managerial

experience in structural engineering, including structural

condition assessments of concrete and/or steel infrastructure,

reinforced concrete repair and remedial solutions, and

remediation projects executed under live operational conditions.

  • A valid Code B (or EB) driver’s licence and own access to a

vehicle.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to access all areas of buildings and civil structures

including roofs, basements, ceiling voids, confined spaces,

and elevated structures.

  • Ability to work at height (scaffolding, ladders, roof access) in

compliance with the OHS Act and Construction Regulations fall

protection requirements, or their successor legislation as

applicable.

  • Ability to conduct extended walking inspections across

multiple sites.

  • Ability to use and wear personal protective equipment as

required by site conditions.

  • Medical fitness to work in environments with potential exposure

to dust, asbestos (visual identification only, not handling), and

confined spaces.

  • Willingness to attend sites at short notice in response to structural

emergencies or incidents.

Special conditions:

  • Maintained ECSA registration, including compliance with ECSA

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, as a

condition of continued employment. Loss of ECSA registration

constitutes a material change in the incumbent's ability to

perform the duties of the post.

  • Willingness to respond to emergency structural incidents

outside normal working hours.
