Job description
A leading financial services organisation is seeking an exceptional Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a multi‑market Credit Transformation Programme. This role demands a highly skilled delivery leader with deep Credit Risk domain expertise and proven senior stakeholder engagement capability across executive, regulatory, and cross‑functional environments.
The successful candidate will drive the execution of a modern, digital credit workflow platform that will reshape end‑to‑end lending processes, uplift operational efficiency, and enable faster, data‑driven decision‑making across complex credit portfolios.
Role Purpose
To lead and orchestrate the successful delivery of a large‑scale credit transformation initiative, ensuring alignment between business strategy, credit risk governance, technology enablement, and measurable value outcomes. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the central delivery authority across multiple squads, domains, and senior stakeholder groups.
Non‑Negotiable Requirements1. Deep Credit Risk Expertise (Mandatory)
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of credit risk processes, governance, and regulatory expectations.
- Experience delivering projects within lending, credit decisioning, credit workflow, or risk environments.
- Ability to translate credit risk requirements into delivery roadmaps and technical execution.
- Comfort engaging with Credit Risk, Credit Ops, Collections, and Regulatory teams.
2. Senior Stakeholder Engagement (Mandatory)
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Proven ability to influence and engage executive‑level stakeholders.
- Experience presenting to Exco, Steering Committees, and senior business leaders.
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision‑facilitation skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple senior groups.
Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery Leadership
- Drive end‑to‑end delivery of strategic credit transformation workstreams.
- Lead Agile delivery practices including sprint planning, backlog refinement, increment planning, and delivery governance.
- Establish high‑performance delivery rhythms across cross‑functional teams.
Stakeholder & Governance Management
- Partner closely with Credit Risk, Credit Ops, Product Owners, Architects, and Technology teams.
- Facilitate project ceremonies, workshops, decision‑making forums, and executive engagements.
- Prepare and present project status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Execution Excellence
- Manage project plans, timelines, budgets, risks, issues, and dependencies with precision.
- Ensure alignment between credit risk priorities, delivery roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
- Provide coaching and guidance on Agile delivery practices and team effectiveness.
Transformation Enablement
- Drive simplification and modernisation of credit processes and workflows.
- Support the rollout of new digital capabilities, user experience enhancements, and data‑driven decisioning.
- Champion adoption, change readiness, and operational integration across impacted teams.
Required ExperienceCore Delivery Experience
- 10–15 years of project management experience in complex organisational environments.
- Minimum 5 years practical experience as an Agile Project Manager and/or Scrum Master.
- Demonstrated experience leading large‑scale business and technology transformation initiatives.
Credit & Risk Experience (Non‑Negotiable)
- Delivery experience in credit, lending, risk, or regulatory environments.
- Strong understanding of credit lifecycle processes and decisioning workflows.
- Experience working with credit risk stakeholders and governance forums.
Technical & Delivery Skills
- Sprint and release management
- Backlog management and refinement
- Increment planning and delivery governance
- Risk, issue, and dependency management
- Executive reporting and stakeholder engagement
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and cross‑functional teams simultaneously
Preferred Experience
- Financial services, banking, lending, credit, risk, or related domain experience.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments.
- Exposure to both Agile and traditional delivery methodologies.
- Experience delivering workflow, decisioning, or credit‑related platforms.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, PMBOK or equivalent).
- Agile certification (Certified Scrum Master, SAFe or equivalent).

Pay: R900,00 per hour
