Job Summary
The Senior Reservationist is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Reservations Department and ensuring the efficient, accurate, and professional handling of all reservation requests. The role is responsible for maximizing room sales and revenue in line with Management targets, maintaining accurate reservation information, coordinating guest confirmations, and ensuring effective communication between Reservations and other hotel departments.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Reservations Department.
- Handle and manage all reservation requests, confirmations, amendments, and cancellations.
- Maximize room sales and revenue in line with Management targets.
- Monitor room availability, rates, inventory, and booking patterns.
- Liaise with Reception, Sales, Restaurant, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service.
- Manage bookings and communication with IDS, GDS, travel agencies, and tour operators.
- **Ensure accurate and up-to-date reservation records and reports.**Handle guest enquiries and resolve reservation-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor Reservationists to improve performance and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with ONOMO policies, procedures, and service standards.Stay informed of hospitality and market trends to identify opportunities for improved room sales.
Qualifications and Competencies required:
- Grade 12; Hospitality or Tourism qualification advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a hotel reservations role.
- Previous supervisory experience advantageous.
- Proficient in Opera and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of IDS, GDS, travel agencies, and tour operators advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Commercially focused with an understanding of room sales and revenue.
- Professional, proactive, and committed to ONOMO standards
