Senior Sales Engineer (Road and Construction)

We're seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join our team in South Africa. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of technical expertise and customer relationships within the road and construction industry.

Identify and grow new markets outside of construction, and develop products to be sold into these industries:

Forestry / Agriculture / Surface Mining + International OEM’s

Provide Application Engineering activities for the new industries.

Ensure effective marketing campaigns to promote new products.

You'll be instrumental in driving sales growth while providing technical solutions that meet our customers' unique needs. Your role will involve building trusted partnerships with clients and delivering excellence in every interaction. Join us in shaping the future of infrastructure development across the region.

Accountabilities:

Call on / train and Educate Construction and Mining customers on the correct usage of Kennametal tools and mining solutions while promoting the Kennametal products.

Own and manage the marketing budget.

New Product Development – following the internal NPD process.

New market identification, applying “solution selling” / “ROI” methodology to secure market share.

Daily feedback to Sales Manager on current conditions and potential customes to enhance sales.

Working closely with the relevant Kennametal service providers (Both internal and external) to ensure suitable and timely outcomes.

Initiate and monitor trials (new products being tested) and report back on success / next steps.

Compiling of budgets and forecasting as required (monthly / quarterly / annually).

Compile weekly and monthly reports on current customer and competitor conditions and potential customers.

Attend weekly and monthly reporting meetings.

Requirements:

The incumbent must have at least a high school diploma and a minimum of three (3 - 5 years) experience in the Construction / Mining Industry.

Knowledge and experience in the Construction and Mining Industry and equipment

Practical knowledge in the application and use of Construction and Mining Tools and Solutions, replacement parts and consumables.

Application Engineering expertise to support existing products and industries as well as new business outside of traditional business.

RCA (Root Cause Analysis) experience / Solution Selling Techniques.

Knowledge on innovative marketing techniques.
