Senior Sales Manager – New Business

This role is to lead our field based New Business function. We are looking for an exceptional and experienced leader with a strong sales background of tech/SaaS experience, to lead our team from the front. New business is the lifeblood for a technology organisation so this critical role is critical to the regions success and as such forms a key part of Mimecast’s go to market and South Africa management team.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced sales leadership that exhibits a high level of leadership qualities both in terms of inspiring their teams but also delivering consistently high results. We care deeply about our customers and take pride in delivering top class engagement. We seek a leader that is able to demonstrate the above while nurturing the next generation of sales hunters while managing experienced enterprise reps to drive new logo sales into the biggest and best companies across South Africa.

What You’ll Do

  • Senior leader in charge of all sales activities in territory
  • Develops, or participates with the Senior Staff, in the development of the Strategic go-to-market plan for accounts
  • Provides leadership to the day-to-day operations of the sales department, while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals
  • Establishes performance goals for all sales department employees, and monitors performance on a continual basis
  • Develops and/or maintains and improves business relations with all customers & partners of the Company
  • Responsible for driving revenue and use learning’s from that experience to refine sales processes and to build an appropriate team
  • Attract, retain, train, and motivate a diverse sales force
  • Achieve monthly / quarterly / annual business targets
  • Sign up to and execute against a set of end to end sales methodology and process Key Performance Indicator’s: Weekly end user activities, Forecasting accuracy, Pipeline stats, Account penetration and incremental growth

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years in sales leadership position in IT (ideally within cybersecurity, saas and email security).
  • Experience in management of Commercial as well as Public Sector clients
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully leading new business direct and indirect sales teams
  • Proven ability to build integrated sales and marketing plans
  • Ability to manage risks, priorities and expectations in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proven capability of developing talent from within the business
  • Ability to work with and gain input and resources from multiple teams and disciplines
  • Strong business / commercial acumen
  • Strong communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Results-oriented with a positive outlook
  • A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance and that of their team members
  • Familiarity with tools and frameworks such as SFDC / GonG / and MEDDPICC would be advantageous.

The on-target earnings (OTE) range for this position is 1,760,000,00 - 2,640,000,00 ZAR Annual (OTE) plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
