Senior Sous Chef | Winelands

Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment is looking for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join a respected luxury hospitality property in the Cape Winelands.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef who enjoys leading a busy kitchen, mentoring a brigade, and delivering exceptional food and guest experiences. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest culinary standards while ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Chef with the daily management of the kitchen.
• Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen brigade.
• Ensure exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation.
• Assist with menu planning, recipe development and seasonal menu changes.
• Manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships.
• Monitor food costs, wastage and kitchen efficiency.
• Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are maintained.
• Assist with staff training, scheduling and performance management.
• Maintain a calm, organised approach during busy service periods.
• Work closely with Front of House to ensure an outstanding guest experience.

Requirements

• Formal Culinary Qualification.
• Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef or experienced Sous Chef within a luxury hotel, lodge or fine dining restaurant.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of food costing, stock control and kitchen administration.
• Passion for producing exceptional cuisine.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Own reliable transport will be advantageous.
