Minimum Requirement

• Bachelor's Degree (Hons) in a relevant field (Essential/Minimum)
• Management Development Programme qualification (Recommended/Desirable)
• 6 to 8 years' proven experience in Operational Risk Management, SHE Systems, or Integrated Management Systems within mining, heavy industry, or a similarly high-risk environment
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing Operational Risk Management Frameworks
• Significant experience facilitating enterprise risk assessments and maintaining organisational risk registers
• Proven track record designing, implementing, and monitoring Critical Control Management programmes
• Experience managing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certified management systems, including conducting internal and external audits
• Familiarity with implementing or supporting digital SHE platforms, enterprise management systems, and ERP system configuration or business process integration projects
• Strong capabilities in governance reporting, data analytics, and executive-level reporting
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive organisation-wide change initiatives

• Certifications in ISO 14001 Environmental and ISO or OHSAS Auditing (Recommended/Desirable)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Operational Risk Management Framework and SHE Management Systems in alignment with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Develop and maintain the Critical Control Management Framework, identify material unwanted events, establish control performance standards, and monitor control effectiveness to prevent incidents.
• Act as custodian for the organisation's digital SHE platforms, overseeing business process design, system configuration, testing, user acceptance, and implementation to ensure seamless integration within ERP systems.
• Monitor regulatory compliance, industry best practices, and SHE system certifications, coordinating internal and external audits, and driving corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate enterprise-wide operational risk identification, assessment, and treatment by maintaining accurate risk registers and providing assurance on risk mitigation measures.
• Develop and deliver governance reporting, dashboards, and analytics for operational risk and SHE performance, providing insights to governance committees, executive management, and regulatory bodies.
• Drive a proactive risk culture through coaching, awareness programs, stakeholder engagement, and influencing senior leadership to embed risk ownership and accountability throughout the organisation.
• Support the digital transformation and optimisation of SHE management processes, ensuring data integrity, system governance, and high levels of user adoption while minimising business disruption.
• Maintain and standardise SHE policies, procedures, and documentation across all operations, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment and compliance with internal and legislative requirements.
• Promote collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation in risk and SHE management to support the organisation's strategic objectives and sustainability goals.
