Senior Stock Controller

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Effective management of stock ensuring continuous trade of business, with strategic oversight of inventory processes, optimisation of stock flow, and proactive identification of risks. The role provides senior operational support by driving accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all inventory‑related functions, ensuring stock integrity, cost control, and alignment with organisational objectives.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control systems, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with operational strategy.

· Maintain accurate inventories of finished goods, raw materials, and equipment, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal controls.

· Maintain up-to-date records of stock purchases and sales, ensuring transparency and audit readiness.

· Track flow of stock through the company and identify inefficiencies, proposing corrective actions and process enhancements.

· Promote inventory as a strategic asset within the company, driving awareness of stock value, cost implications, and operational impact.

· Assist Operations Manager with monitoring, analysing, and investigating all stock entries to ensure DEAR accuracy, while providing senior-level insights and recommendations.

· Lead the preparation and administration of all stock takes, internal and external, ensuring robust planning, cross‑departmental coordination, and high‑quality data capture. Capture counts onto the system and ensure all variances are double checked via Operations Manager before confirming data ready for journalling into DEAR with FM or CEO.

· Oversee processing of stock transfers and production orders, ensuring alignment with production schedules and operational priorities.

· Manage processing of raw material and consumables purchase orders, ensuring supplier reliability, cost efficiency, and adherence to MOQ requirements.

· Ensure all relevant order information is given to Logistics for delivery/collection and proactively resolve any supply chain delays or risks.

· Notify the Warehouse of any stock expected to arrive and ensure readiness for receiving, storage, and system capturing.

· Prepare and submit MOQ and availability reporting to Managers, including trend analysis, forecasting, and strategic recommendations.

· Assist with back‑order queries and lead root‑cause analysis to reduce recurrence and improve customer fulfilment.

· Send NCRs, arrange upliftment and replacement, and ensure corrective actions are completed and documented.

· Assist with ITP, invoices, and stock take, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

· Provide senior operational support by identifying risks, recommending improvements, and contributing to operational planning and decision‑making.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

· Matric

· Relevant diploma an advantage

· Minimum two years stock control experience

· Accounting or bookkeeping experience

· Warehouse Management experience

· Warehouse Management Software experience. DEAR/Cin Core 7 system an advantage.

· Proficiency in MS Office

· DEAR system experience required.

· Experience in leading stock‑related projects or process improvements

· Exposure to cross‑functional collaboration with Finance, Operations, and Logistics

· Ability to analyse data and present insights to senior management
