Job description

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with deep Kafka platform expertise to own the reliability, security, and automation of our event-streaming environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and support production Kafka platforms, including monitoring, incident response, debugging, and performance tuning.
Plan and execute upgrades, patching, and platform lifecycle activities.
Design scalable, resilient, and secure Kafka architecture.
Automate infrastructure and operational workflows using DevOps and IaC practices.
Partner with application teams to onboard workloads and improve platform standards.

Requirements

6+ years of experience in Systems/Platform Engineering.
4+ years of hands-on Kafka administration, preferably Confluent Platform and/or Confluent Cloud .
Strong DevOps and automation skills, including Python/Bash, CI/CD, Terraform/Ansible .
Solid Linux skills and troubleshooting experience.
Cloud experience, preferably Azure .
Strong knowledge of Kafka security, including TLS/SSL, SASL, and ACLs .
Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Azure Monitor .
