Senior Business Solution Analyst Project Prometheus Project Prometheus is a specialist insurance transformation initiative. Role Overview The Solution Analyst bridges business needs and technology delivery through a strong systems analysis focus. The role elicits, analyses, documents and validates detailed system requirements that enable development and testing teams to implement fit-for-purpose solutions. These requirements include functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, data requirements, interface and integration requirements, system behaviours, exception handling and traceable acceptance criteria. Essential Candidate Criteria Matric and a relevant bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems or a related field Business analysis certification Agile certification Relevant technical qualifications or demonstrable equivalent technical capability At least six years’ IT business analysis or systems analysis experience, including at least three years in short-term insurance Strong, demonstrable experience eliciting, analysing, specifying and validating detailed system requirements Experience defining functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, data requirements, interfaces, integrations, system behaviours, validations, exceptions and error handling One to two years’ experience in data or systems migration, development and integration Practical experience producing data flows, sequence diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, API specifications and SQL queries for data analysis or retrieval Experience maintaining traceability from business requirements through system requirements, solution design, acceptance criteria and test coverage Working knowledge of Agile or Scrum and Jira or a similar work management tool Key Responsibilities Elicit and analyse business needs to identify complete system requirements and solution impacts Document detailed functional and non-functional system requirements, business rules, data requirements, validations, interfaces, integrations, dependencies, exceptions and error-handling scenarios Analyse current and target systems, data flows, processes, APIs and integration points Produce clear system models and specifications, including context diagrams, process flows, data flows, sequence diagrams, entity relationship diagrams and interface or API requirements Define unambiguous system behaviours, inputs, outputs, field-level rules, calculations, triggers, conditions and expected outcomes Validate system requirements with business stakeholders, architects, developers, testers and other technical specialists Maintain end-to-end traceability between business needs, system requirements, solution components, user stories, acceptance criteria and test cases Assess system impacts, risks, dependencies, migration needs and required configuration or development changes Support solution design, backlog refinement, development, testing, defect clarification and implementation Ensure system requirements are complete, consistent, feasible, testable and ready for delivery Capabilities We Are Looking For Advanced system requirements analysis and specification skills Strong analytical, problem-solving and systems-thinking ability Ability to decompose complex business needs into clear, structured and testable system requirements Strong understanding of data, interfaces, APIs, integrations, validations, system dependencies and exception handling
