Service Desk Engineer - Night Shift
Position Overview
We are recruiting a Service Desk Engineer to work on a night shift basis. The role is based in Cape Town, and the shift pattern will be Sundays to Thursdays starting at 22:30PM and ending at 07:30AM
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of different customers resolving their IT issues by delivering the right solutions at the right time. This is a great role for an established IT support engineer who is looking for their next challenge.
Salary & Benefits
The budgeted salary for this role is 24,000 - 30,000 ZAR monthly (depending on experience), with an additional 30% nightshift allowance.

Responsibilities
- Ensuring our client’s systems and network infrastructure smooth running, ensuring they get maximum benefits from them. Activities may include:
- Answering inbound calls within an agreed answer time
- Logging all customer issues, queries, and requests into the ticket management system.
- Providing Level 2 Server, Network, and Desktop Technical Support, diagnosing customer issues, and providing a high level of the first-time fix.
- Undertake hardware configurations and software installations.
- Managing and working to internal and customer SLA’s, escalating any concerns.
- Creating and maintaining customer-specific infrastructure documentation.
- Having end-to-end ownership of problem resolution.
- Managing client expectations through clear communications.
Qualifications & Experience
The right candidate for this role will be able to work on a night shift pattern and will also have:
- 1-2 years’ experience as a service desk engineer supporting SME’s
- Experience of working within a wider service delivery function
- The ability to support multiple clients as part of a single role
- Technical experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Office Exchange and Active Directory
Experience of the following would be advantageous:
- Firewalls, Router & VPN Technologies
- Networking Technologies
- VPN Technologies
- Microsoft Sharepoint
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Intune
