Job Advert Summary
St Peter's College is an independant Anglican Diocesan school for boys and girls from Grade 8 to Grade 12. The school was founded in 1998 to meet the demand for a co-educational high school in northern Sandton. St Peter's College offers and integrated and relevant South African high school eductation.
The aim of the College is to ensure that individual potential is achieved through exposure to a wide range of excellent academic, spiritual, sporting, creative, cultural and community activities. Our goal is to create and maintain an environment where trust and respect for the individual prevails, where diversity and inclusion are valued, and where individual responsibility is fostered within the context of teamwork.
The College is currently seeking to appoint a Sesotho Teacher to start on 1 Janaury 2027.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Degree/diploma in Education, Languages, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in teaching Sesotho (Grades 8-12).
- Experience in marking the IEB NSC Examinations is also advantageous
- Must have experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Must be registered with SACE

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties (not an exhausitive list):
- Plan and deliver engaging Sesotho lessons for Grades 8–12.
- Prepare schemes of work, assessments, and examinations in accordance with curriculum requirements.
- Teach Sesotho grammar, vocabulary, literature, and oral traditions.
- Assess, record and report on student progress.
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Provide academic support and feedback to students and parents.
- Attend departmental meetings, parent evenings and school functions.
- Participate in pastoral and co-curricular extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning.
- Uphold the values, policies, and safeguarding standards of the school.
