Job Opportunity: Settlement Clerk – FMCGLocation: [Insert Location]Employment Type: Permanent, Full-TimeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Settlement Clerk to join our growing FMCG team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing daily settlements, reconciling customer accounts, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accurate financial records. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment and has strong analytical and reconciliation skills.Key Responsibilities- Process daily customer and route settlements accurately and on time.- Reconcile cash, EFT, credit card, and account transactions.- Verify invoices, proof of deliveries (PODs), credit notes, and supporting documentation.- Investigate and resolve settlement discrepancies promptly.- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly settlement reports.- Liaise with drivers, sales representatives, warehouse staff, and the finance department to resolve queries.- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.- Assist with month-end reconciliation and audit requirements when necessary.Minimum Requirements- Grade 12 (Matric).- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a Settlement Clerk, Debtors Clerk, Accounts Clerk, or similar finance role within the FMCG, wholesale, or distribution industry.- Strong reconciliation and numerical skills.- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.- Experience using ERP/accounting systems (e.g. SAP, Syspro, Kerridge, Pastel, or similar).- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.What We Offer- Competitive market-related salary.- Opportunities for professional growth and development.- A supportive and dynamic working environment.- The opportunity to be part of a successful and growing FMCG business.How to ApplyIf you meet the above requirements and are looking for an exciting opportunity within the FMCG industry, we would like to hear from you.Please submit your CV along with a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
