Job description

Overall Responsibility Responsible for the accurate capturing and receiving of purchase orders, orders picked, and orders dispatched. Any stock movements on the warehouse floor should be captured on the system.

Focus Area 1: Maintain safe, healthy and risk-free working environment

  • Adhere to SHP Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) standards in all daily activities.
  • Participate in safety observations, follow established safety processes, and report or escalate identified gaps.
  • Sustain 5S standards in the designated work area, maintaining workplace organization and discipline.
  • Always adhere to safe working practices
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), risk assessments, and safe work instructions.
  • Conduct pre-task safety checks before starting equipment or processes
  • Comply with and HACCP / IS022000 and OHSAct requirements
  • Apply basic hygiene and sanitation and adhere to food safety related rules and activities as per factory instructions
  • Assisting with Housekeeping

Focus Area 2: Manufacturing Excellence culture

  • Consistently follows Manufacturing Excellence (ME) pillar tools and standardized work processes.
  • Adhere to structured shift handover requirements to ensure operational continuity and information accuracy.
  • Maintain the Operator Workstation/area concept throughout the shift
  • Take responsibility for basic equipment condition, inspection, cleaning, and lubrication activities.
  • Report equipment abnormalities and support restoration to basic conditions.
  • Support the continuous improvement culture
  • Drive manufacturing excellence pillars on the shopfloor

Focus Area 3: Receiving on shift

  • Ensuring that no stock arrives on site and gets offloaded without the necessary paperwork
  • Ensuring that physical stock received vs delivery note matches and handling all paperwork
  • Capturing of stock received on Syspro
  • Ensuring that returns from trade gets captured on Syspro to ensure stock accuracy
  • Ensure all moves of stock on shopfloor is captured accordingly in Syspro
  • The processing of all orders to customers and other warehouses
  • Stand in as shift supervisor when required
  • Schedules and other monthly KPI’s will be established to maximise the effectiveness of this support.

Focus Area 4: Dispatch

  • Ensure all moves of stock on shopfloor is captured accordingly in Syspro
  • The processing of all orders to customers and other warehouses
  • Booking of transport for all orders
  • Ensure adherence to the load plan

Focus Area 5: Reporting

  • Report all non-compliance issues to shift supervisor and incoming shift supervisor
  • Report on all receiving to receiving clerk
  • Count and capture of finish goods
  • Report on finished good counts

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric or Grade 12 equivalent
  • Proficiency in inventory management software
  • Proficient on Microsoft excel, Word and PowerPoint
