Job description

About the Role

The Shipping and Logistics Clerk plays a crucial role in managing the flow of goods and materials across various channels. This position focuses on effective shipment processing, logistics coordination, and inventory management, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage product deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy
  • Ensures the efficient and accurate processing of the capturing of costings.
  • Liaise with forwarders regarding relevant documentation.
  • Liaise with freight forwarder to insure timely shipment clearance and delivery.
  • Plan and monitor of deliveries with the receiving department.
  • Ensure incoming shipments are checked.
  • Reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with suppliers to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Order processing including all administrative duties, ie. Sending, confirming, payment preparation
  • Obtaining airfreight/courier quotations and arranging relevant collections.
  • Keeping files up-to-date
  • Coordinate deliveries of international orders:
  • Follow up on delays, late deliveries, back orders, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Requirements

  • Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field, with demonstrable knowledge of logistics practices and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and external partners.
  • Proficiency in using shipping and inventory management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance related to shipping, including import and export requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with customs regulations and international shipping processes.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (such as CLTD or CSCP) is a plus.
  • Experience in using advanced data management systems or ERP software.
