Shop Specialist

Main Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to cruise guests.
• Promote and sell jewellery, watches, cosmetics, fragrances, fashion and other onboard merchandise.
• Achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets.
• Demonstrate products and provide professional product recommendations.
• Process cash, card and POS transactions accurately.
• Maintain attractive, clean and fully stocked shop displays.
• Assist with stock receiving, inventory counts and replenishment.
• Promote sales events, special offers and onboard shopping activities.
• Build strong relationships with guests and encourage repeat purchases.
• Handle customer enquiries, complaints and returns professionally.
• Follow company policies regarding sales, discounts, refunds and security.
• Maintain knowledge of products, brands, prices and promotions.
• Follow all shipboard safety, security and retail procedures.
• Work effectively with a multicultural team.
• Report sales results, stock discrepancies and operational issues to the Shop Manager.

Requirements

• Previous cruise-ship experience preferred/required.
• Previous retail, luxury retail, hospitality or sales experience.
• Proven ability to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
• Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
• Confident, professional and outgoing personality.
• Strong English communication skills; additional languages are an advantage.
• Good knowledge of POS systems and basic computer skills.
• Strong product knowledge and ability to learn new brands quickly.
• Cash-handling and inventory experience.
• Professional appearance and presentation.
• Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends and sea days.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Ability to live and work in a multicultural shipboard environment.

Pay: R28 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
