Site Controller / Yard Supervisor

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal applicant will possess the following:-

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification;
• A minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory experience;
• Relevant supervisory experience in an operational or industrial environment; including responsibility for coordinating daily site activities, overseeing staff, and maintaining site standards; and
• Relevant experience or exposure to mechanics will be an added advantage.

JOB OUTPUTS

• Supervising bus cleaners, vehicle checkers, shunter drivers and yard cleaners in execution of their duties.
• Allocating duties to yard cleaners.
• Inspecting depot grounds and workshops for cleanliness.
• Inspecting buses for cleanliness.
• Monitoring the depot buildings for repairs.
• Maintaining discipline.
• Managing attendance registers & Scheduling.
• Environmental awareness (diesel spills).
• Check PPE compliance.
• Conduct and maintaining records of Toolbox Talks, safety attendance registers, and incident reports.
• Supervision of maintenance repairs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• The job involves night shift work and may require the incumbent to work during weekends and on public holidays.

COMPETENCIES

KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of the bus passenger industry.
• Knowledge of the depot operations.
• Knowledge of safety regulations.
• Knowledge of the company’s disciplinary procedures.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
