ROLE SUMMARY:

  • To adopt a holistic view to students in their care, promoting the general progress and well-being of individuals and of any class or group assigned to them.
  • To create a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and present interesting and exciting lessons.
  • Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing and promotes engaged learning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to design engaging lessons and contribute to cross-curricular initiatives.
  • Model professionalism, dedication, and a growth mindset within the school community.
  • Behave professionally concerning punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and students’ homework.
  • Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice.
  • Offer academic support on two afternoons per week and assist with two afternoons of extracurricular activities.
  • Produce resources of a high standard for students.
  • Show loyalty to all facets of Reddam House.
  • Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
  • Set and mark exams and all other forms of student evaluation.
  • Write comments on student reports.
  • The post holder is required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head/line manager determines.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: Skills and Previous Experience:

  • Confidence with the use of IT in teaching
  • Proven track record of teaching Social Sciences in Grade 5-7

Qualifications and Accreditations:

  • University qualification
  • Certified Teaching Status
  • SACE registration
